Recipes to try at home…
The next few pages have recipes for you to try. Now don’t worry most of these are very simple. Most of the recipes are amalgamations of different recipes that through trial and error I have found work. Over the years I have taken the best bits (or removed the worse bits) from different recipes to make food that I (and my friends) really enjoy.
I have tried all of these recipes over the years and 9 out of 10 times they are a big treat. Unfortunately I can’t give myself a perfect score because sometimes I don’t get it right. Occasionally this is because I have just forgotten that I had something cooking and it has burnt. Other times (more common) is the result of not having the right ingredients so I improvised (not advised for novices). So basically unless you are a total airhead and forget about the food these recipes are fool proof. Please feel free to let me know if I’m wrong.
For people out there who are unfortunate and can not have gluten (or for friends and family of such people) let me tell you now that you do not have to fret. There are some amazing gluten free flours that can be substituted for normal flour without changing the taste of the final product. If you need self-raising flour just add 2 teaspoons of baking powder (gluten free) to the flour before adding it to the recipe and hey presto self-raising gluten free flour.
