Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients
- Sweet potatoes
- Oil (enough to cover the bottom of the pan and be 1.5cm thick)
- Heavy based saucepan
- Rosemary
- Salt
- Wooden spoon
- Tea towel
- Bowl
- Microwave
- Stove
What To Do
- Put oil in saucepan on high heat, making sure the oil covers the bottom of the pan and deep enough to cover the chips
- Put a pinch of salt and a pinch of rosemary into the oil and stir with a wooden spoon
- Peel sweet potatoes and cut into 1cm thick “chips”
- Place sweet potato in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 1 minute
- When the oil is hot (check by placing a small chip into the oil, if the oil is hot enough it will bubble and sizzle) place the chips in a single layer in the pan (it may take more than one go to get all the chips done
- The chips are done when the outside is golden (this will take about 10 minutes)
- Remove the chips from the oil (DO NOT USE PLASTIC the oil will melt it) and place in a bowl lined with paper towel.
- Sprinkle with salt and serve with main dish
Note: If you are using a non-stick pan don’t use metal as this will scrap the non-stick lining
